Changing of the Guard: A Free Land Transfer and Succession Planning Workshop for Both Landowners and Land Seekers - Jun 2026

📅 24 June 2026 | 📍 Embassy Suites by Hilton Loveland Conference Center, 4705 Clydesdale Pkwy, Loveland, CO, 80538, United States

Join CCALT at the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association Annual Convention for a new format of their Succession Planning Workshop!

On June 24th from 1:00 – 5:00pm at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Loveland Conference Center, CCALT and CCA will be hosting Changing of the Guard: A Succession Planning and Land Transfer Workshop.

The workshop will consist of two separate sessions – one for the current generation, and one for the next generation. Each will feature presentations from Davon Cook and Dr. Shannon Ferrell, followed by a combined session of both groups to facilitate meaningful dialogue on land transfers and succession planning.

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Simultaneous Sessions)

The Land Transfer session moderated by Maggie Hanna is geared toward the rising generation (family and non-family situations) and will provide an overview of the transfer of both assets and management.

The Succession Planning session moderated by Don Richards is geared toward the current generation of landowners and our experts will provide you with helpful insights on managing the transfer of both assets and management to the next generation.

3:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Joint Session)

The final two hours will be an open conversation as we bring the rising generation and current generation together in the same room to discuss what each group learned about the other and provide strategies for navigating transfer and succession more efficiently and successfully.
