About Robert H. Treman State Park: Named after Robert H. Treman, who purchased the land in 1915 and donated it to New York State in 1920, this 1,110-acre park showcases the rugged beauty of Enfield Glen. The park features rock formations primarily made of Devonian shale and sandstone that formed in horizontal layers. Between 1933 and 1941, the Civilian Conservation Corps developed much of the park's infrastructure, including the stone walkways and bridges that make the gorge accessible today. The park boasts 12 waterfalls along Enfield Creek, with the crown jewel being the 115-foot Lucifer Falls.
