The Art of Ikebana: Floral Workshop - Aug 2026

📅 8 August 2026 | 📍 Rodale Institute Founders Farm, 2056 Minesite Rd., Allentown, 18103
Join us for a guided introduction to the art of ikebana — the traditional Japanese practice of minimalist floral design that emphasizes balance, line, and intentional placement.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create a fountain-style arrangement using a reusable kenzan (flower frog). This sculptural style highlights movement, negative space, and natural flow, allowing each stem to be placed with purpose and presence.
Participants will work with a curated selection of seasonal stems while being guided step-by-step through the design process. The experience is designed to be both creative and meditative, offering a calm space to slow down and connect with flowers in a meaningful way.
What You’ll Experience:
Introduction to ikebana principles and philosophy
Hands-on design using a kenzan (flower frog)
Creation of a fountain-style floral arrangement
Guided instruction throughout the workshop
This workshop is suitable for beginners and anyone interested in exploring a more intentional, artful approach to floral design.
