One of the hardest parts about selling organic grain is getting bids from multiple buyers in your area. But it’s worth the effort! Since there is likely to be a price spread between buyers. And sometimes it’s as much as 10% or more. This webinar will explore basic steps in finding and reaching out to organic grain buyers in your area. It will also discuss what to do once you get a merchandiser/buyer on the phone, in terms of discovering what crops they buy, what volumes, when they make new contracts, and, most importantly, price discovery. We will also roleplay a phone call between an organic grain farmer and an organic grain buyer.

This event is supported through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). TOPP is a program of the USDA Organic Transition Initiative and is administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP).
