The 4PM Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) is an immersive, multi-site regenerative learning journey in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, rooted in permaculture ethics of Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share. Named '4PM' to foster a For Permaculture network and evoke after-school or post-work learning times, this course aligns with internationally recognized PDC frameworks. Scheduled from April 3 to May 25, 2026, with specific dates in April (3, 4, 5*, 11, 12, 18, 19*, 25) and May (1, 2, 3, 23, 24, 25), where asterisked days are optional family-friendly or Shenzhen tour excursions at extra cost. A backup day on May 9 handles adverse weather. Delivered in English with Cantonese/Mandarin supplements, it spans 72 hours across urban, rural, coastal, and community settings, including forests, farms, cityscapes, and marine ecosystems. Participants engage in hands-on, site-based learning, exploring permaculture principles, ethics, and design methodology through active inquiry. Key practical elements include applying concepts to real-world contexts like Ark Eden Foundation's eco-education, forest school, and permaculture community on Lantau Island, with ecological restoration projects. By course end, attendees design resilient, regenerative systems for public/private spaces, enhancing ecological health and community wellbeing. Certification requires 80% attendance and a final design project presentation for an internationally recognized PDC. Fees: Standard HK$9,800; Early Bird HK$8,800 (before March 16, 2026), covering tuition; optional Family Day HK$750/adult, HK$450/child; Shenzhen Tour HK$750/adult. The program connects participants to local resources and networks for ongoing practice, emphasizing transformation of spaces via nature-based solutions.
