The International Permaculture Convergence 2026 (IPC16) is a major global gathering bringing together permaculture practitioners, educators, community organizers, and sustainability advocates from around the world. Held in Thailand under the theme 'Beyond Sustainability – Many Paths,' this convergence aims to unite diverse movements working toward a more sustainable and resilient future. The event spans from November 6-15, 2026, with multiple components designed to facilitate knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, and international collaboration. The convergence begins with a welcome event on November 6, 2026, at the Golden Jubilee Museum of Agriculture in Pathum Thani, which was built in honor of Rama the Great and dedicated to his teachings about the Sufficiency Economy. This opening includes an evening celebration of Loy Krathong, the Thai festival of light, water, and gratitude, creating a culturally immersive experience. The 2-day IPC16 Conference follows on November 7-8, 2026, also at the Golden Jubilee Museum, featuring keynote speakers including Dr. Kyle Holzhueter and sessions led by international experts in permaculture and sustainable design. The main 5-day Convergence takes place November 11-15, 2026, at Suan Loong Choke, a Bamboo Wisdom School located in Wang Nam Khiao, Korat—an area famous for its nature-focused attractions and often called 'The Switzerland of Thailand.' This beautiful bamboo forest garden previously hosted Thailand's 4th Permaculture Convergence in 2016. Attendees will engage in hands-on workshops, field sessions, and practical activities focused on ecological design, sustainable living, food security, water management, and climate resilience. The event welcomes permaculture practitioners of all levels, from experienced designers to newcomers passionate about sustainable livelihoods. Participants can contribute as conference speakers, convergence session leaders, or workshop facilitators. The convergence provides opportunities to learn from global experts, connect with international permaculture networks, and explore how diverse cultural and ecological approaches contribute to building resilient communities.
